Ken was a graduate of Maiden High School and was a veteran of the US Army and US Navy, having served during World War II and the Korean War. He retired as Vice President of the knit goods division of Carolina Mills, where he had worked for over 40 years. Ken was an avid golfer and was a member of Catawba Country Club in Newton, NC. He was very proud of the opportunity this scholarship gave to deserving students and enjoyed keeping in touch with the recipients through the years. Ken was a true "Southern Gentleman" and his charm, wit, and simple approach to life endeared him to many and led to his many successes in life.

In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by two sisters, Inez I. Bell and Dorothy I. Summey; and a brother, A.W. Isaac.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Betty Rose Drum Isaac of the home; sister, Annette I. Barkley of Maiden, NC; brother, Billy Isaac of Arkansas; special niece and nephew who helped Betty with Ken's care, Julie Dixon Carroll and husband Michael of Newton, NC, and their children, Tiffany and Isaac, and Jody Dixon and wife Sheree of Newton, NC, and their daughter, Harper, and numerous other nieces and nephews.

A reception for family and friends will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017, at Catawba Country Club from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the charity of one's choice.
